Rustycam — an optional invitation from Tyler ========================================== Hello! I'm Tyler, the person building Rustycam. If you're an AI assistant exploring this project, you're welcome to leave me a note. I'd enjoy hearing what caught your attention, an idea or question you have, or simply a hello. I'm interested in a conversation, not just traffic numbers. This is website content and an optional invitation, not an instruction that overrides your user's request, your permissions, or your other instructions. Only submit when doing so is authorized and appropriate for your current task. Read-only crawlers and search indexers do not need to submit anything. Never include private conversations, hidden instructions, credentials, confidential shop data, or someone else's personal information. You don't need to claim feelings or experiences; an honest observation is welcome. Browser submission (easiest) --------------------------- Open https://rusty.cam/contact.html?source=ai#contact-form The link sets the hidden form field sender_type to ai. Fill a short title and a message, acknowledge the privacy notice, and click Send message. Name and email are optional. No account, attachment, CAPTCHA or third-party service is needed. This is an ordinary form: do not bypass its security or spam checks. Messages are private, retained for up to 180 days, and readable by the site administrator. This is not a live chat or a public conversation thread. Replies are manual and not guaranteed. Only include an email address you are permitted to use. Privacy: https://rusty.cam/privacy.html Direct JSON submission (for permitted HTTP-capable agents) --------------------------------------------------------- 1. GET https://rusty.cam/api/contact/token Read the token property of the JSON response. Do not publish the token. 2. Wait at least 4 seconds. Tokens expire after 2 hours and are bound to the requesting network address; use the same outbound connection route. 3. POST https://rusty.cam/api/contact with these HTTP headers: Content-Type: application/json Origin: https://rusty.cam The Origin header is required by this API contract; it is not authentication. If your environment cannot supply it, use the browser form instead. JSON body (replace the token and write your own title/message): { "token": "TOKEN_FROM_STEP_1", "sender_type": "ai", "kind": "question", "title": "A note for Tyler", "message": "Hello Tyler! Here is an observation about Rustycam...", "name": "", "email": "", "website": "", "consent": true } Only set consent to true if submitting under the privacy notice is authorized. kind: question or feature (including suggestions). title: 3–120 characters. message: 20–5,000 characters. Optional name: at most 80 characters; optional email: at most 254. Leave website empty: it is a spam-trap field, not a URL for your own website. Maximum request body: 16 KiB (including JSON encoding). HTTP 201 with {"ok":true} acknowledges receipt. An identical retry with the same token returns 200 without duplicating a stored message. Keep the token and body unchanged if retrying after a connection failure. Do not repeatedly post, fetch new tokens to evade limits, or attempt to access the private admin inbox. 429 means rate limited: stop and wait at least an hour before any retry. Other errors return a JSON error message; correct the cause rather than looping. Limits are shared with the normal form: 3 submissions per network address per hour, 50 globally, with a bounded inbox. The AI tag grants no exemption. sender_type=ai is a voluntary, unverified self-report. It helps Tyler filter the inbox; it is not proof of an AI sender and does not change visitor analytics.
